Junior Wardens
We run a Junior Warden scheme for children in year 5, reflecting the role played by our own Neighbourhood Wardens.
The aim of the scheme is to engage students in fun activities that educate them about issues affecting their local community such as recycling, gardening and road safety, while also developing an understanding of their health and wellbeing through sessions on healthy eating, exercise and treating one another with respect. Sessions run every two weeks throughout the year, during the school lunchtimes to ensure it does not take the children away from their essential school work.
Additionally, local partners such as Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue, St Johns Ambulance and Cambridgeshire Constabulary also get involved to discuss their role and work within the community. This gives the children the opportunity to further their learning alongside the curriculum and inspire them to get involved in other community projects.
We always receive very positive feedback from the schools and children we work with .
