Community safety
We have in-depth experience of tackling issues of sustainability within communities proactively.
For us prevention is key and to meet this aim we have established an innovative Neighbourhood Warden scheme. The wardens are our ‘eyes and ears’ in the community, can spot problems early and have been highly successful in both rural and urban settings.
Where preventative measures have been exhausted we have robust and responsive solutions that allow us to manage threats to the harmony of a neighbourhood. Our experience is wide-ranging and includes the use of starter tenancies, Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABCs) and Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs). A problem shared is a problem halved, so we have facilitated and co-ordinated multi-agency neighbourhood management programmes, drawing many partners and stakeholders together. Our focused approach to income collection, lettings and estate management underpins this activity.
Our Street Representative scheme is another effective mechanism for community members to voice concerns of ASB in their communities. Their enquiries are logged, dealt with in partnership with the ASB team and then the results are fed back where appropriate. The Street Representative scheme is instrumental to making your neighbourhood a better place to live.
We have worked to encourage public trust in our commitment to good neighbourhood management. As a result, they work actively with us to improve the quality of life in their communities.
