Getting back to work
If you’re looking for work, local ‘Ready for Work’ clubs would be a good place to start.
The clubs are based at Huntingdon and St Neots Libraries and offer monthly sessions – on the first Wednesday of the month at Huntington and the third Wednesday of the month at St Neots. The sessions run from 10am to 12 noon. The clubs are sponsored and run by a partnership of local employers, agencies and training providers. They can assist if you’re looking for work, wanting a career change or thinking about starting your own business.
You will benefit from tips on:
- effective job searching
- preparing application forms, covering letters and CVs
- interview techniques, and
- how to assess whether self-employment is right for you.
The clubs invite local employers to talk about their businesses and current vacancies. You will also be able to network with recent successful jobseekers and discuss your needs with local employment agencies, training providers and volunteer organisations.
To find out more, visit the Ready for Work website, or email them at [email protected] or phone 01480 420601.
