Chan Abraham leads Luminus Group, building on a successful public service career since 1974, spanning seven major UK organisations in London, Hampshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire.

He is a passionate advocate of inspirational leadership and widely sought as a public speaker, having successfully led numerous multi-agency initiatives, in health, crime reduction, community development, regeneration, diversity and economic development, while also managing extensive organisational and cultural change. His experience includes being a NHS non-executive director, trustee of various charities, probation board member, school governor and a variety of other voluntary leadership roles, including in the international context as Founder and President of Leadership International. Under his leadership Luminus has achieved consistently high levels of performance and customer satisfaction and is widely regarded as the housing industry’s flagship. Luminus entered the prestigious ranks of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For for the first time in 2008 at 16th place, enhancing this excellent performance in 2009 by moving up to 12th position. In 2010, Luminus reached second place, was awarded the Leadership Special Award and was recognised as number one in the country for leadership, work-life balance, and being founded on strong moral principles. In 2011 Luminus once again achieved 2nd position and was awarded the Wellbeing Special Award and was recognised as number one in the country for having the most helpful colleagues.

In addition, Luminus has won the “Three Stars – Extraordinary” accolade as Best Company 2009, 2010 and 2011. Judges emphasised that key messages from these awards included Luminus employees having the highest score for work/life balance and a strong sense of faith in their leaders, all of which contribute to the company’s continuing record of successful service to customers and positive impact in the wider business and resident communities.
